1911 DEER LEATHER INDEN DAIMYO TAKEDA SHINGEN GRIPS by RISE

Takeda Shingen, original name Takeda Harunobu, (born December 1, 1521, Kai province , Japan—died May 13, 1573, Komaba, Shinano province ), daimyo (feudal lord) and one of the most-famous military leaders of Japan, who struggled for mastery of the strategic Kant? Plain in east-central Honshu during the chaotic Sengoku (“Warring States”) period of civil unrest in the 16th century. Takeda is especially well known for his series of battles (1553–64) with the noted warrior Uesugi Kenshin, which not only are famous in the annals of Japanese history but are also much celebrated in Japanese drama and folklore.

Grips are pictured with Wicked Grip's exclusive Gold PVD screws with our Garnet CZ gemstones, not included but available separately by following this link: 1911 CUSTOM GRIP SCREWS

Each set is hand crafted, with the art contrast engraved into the leather.

Historically, hand crafted Inden leather was used to make Samurai armor due to its lightness, flexibility and strength. This material has a long history of being used by the warrior class of Japan to make and decorate their treasured weapons and armor, going back to 4th Century Japan.

Inden laquered deer leather is unique to Japan, and is created in the same families factory since 1582 in the Yamanishi prefecture in central Japan. Today this expensive material is used for high end pieces of leather work and expensive fashion pieces.

This grip is made by stacking the leather, to give a comfortable, hand filling grip. Decorative metal grommets are used for the grip screw holes. These grips are decorative in nature and not intended for extreme duty use. These grips are fine for range shooting and daily handling. But caution is advised as it can be stained by aggressive use of gun oils, chemicals, body sweat. Care must be used, in the same way you would care for any expensive leather product. If you expect to run your gun hard at the range that day, and get it very dirty, we advise removing these grips and using standard duty grips to protect your investment. Do not spray harsh chemicals on your gun while the grips are mounted.

Each set will come packaged in a special box, with a small note from the Artist Hiroyuki
