Each set is hand crafted, and the visible pattern on the laquered leather will vary from grip set to grip set. Each set is truly unique.
Historically, hand crafted Inden leather was used to make Samurai armor due to its lightness, flexibility and strength. This material has a long history of being used by the warrior class of Japan to make and decorate their treasured weapons and armor, going back to 4th Century Japan.
Inden laquered deer leather is unique to Japan, and is created in the same families factory since 1582 in the Yamanishi prefecture in central Japan. Today this expensive material is used for high end pieces of leather work and expensive fashion pieces.
This grip is made by stacking the leather, to give a comfortable, hand filling grip. Decorative metal grommets are used for the grip screw holes. These grips are decorative in nature and not intended for extreme duty use. These grips are fine for range shooting and daily handling. But caution is advised as it can be stained by aggressive use of gun oils, chemicals, body sweat. Care must be used, in the same way you would care for any expensive leather product. If you expect to run your gun hard at the range that day, and get it very dirty, we advise removing these grips and using standard duty grips to protect your investment. Do not spray harsh chemicals on your gun while the grips are mounted.
Each set will come packaged in a special box, with a small note from the Artist Hiroyuki
